Preparing for Your Visit

Dental disease and concomitant systemic disease are common, and we routinely perform procedures on “high risk” patients. Please alert us to any preexisting health conditions and current medications. Any chronic health problem (e.g. heart, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, Cushings), we will be discussed with your regular veterinarian and may require additional testing or consultation with an internist before the dental consultation/procedure at ADCS.

For healthy pets undergoing general anesthesia, we require that preanesthetic bloodwork be performed within 2 months of presentation at ADCS. We prefer that this be performed by your regular veterinarian, so that unexpected findings can be investigated and resolved before your dental consultation at ADCS.

Records and radiographs from prior dentistry/oral procedures, cardiac/medical consultations, and prior anesthetic response will expedite treatment planning. Please have your regular veterinarian forward pertinent records!

Completing administrative documents prior to your visit will minimize time in the waiting room!
